Dr. Lei Shi is a leading researcher and entrepreneur with over 15 years of expertise in advanced membrane technology. Currently serving as CTO at Snano, and Senior Research Scientist at Singapore Membrane Technology Centre (SMTC), Nanyang Technological University. He has been pioneering membrane innovations since 2009.
Dr. Shi earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from NTU in 2012. As a core team member under Professor Wang Rong (Singapore Academy of Engineering Fellow), he contributed to developing the world's first forward osmosis hollow fiber composite membrane in 2010.
His research portfolio includes 25 SCI publications (H-index: 24), 2 patents, and 3 trade secrets. His expertise spans microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, forward osmosis, and hydrophobic membranes for water purification, desalination, and gas separation applications.
His achievements include the Singapore Efficiency Medal (2019), and the Prosper.Net-Scopus Young Scientist Award (2013).
